Wedding Trends: Venue Theme Edition
When it comes to weddings it’s all about location, location, location. Often the venue also helps guide the look and feel of the entire wedding and reception. Consider taking inspiration for your color scheme, flower arrangements and other fine touches from your chosen locale. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite location-based themes to get your creative juices flowing.
Desert
Our first example is, naturally, a desert setting … like the one you would find at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club. While some may think only of brown when they imagine the heart of the desert, those of us who are lucky enough to live in the Grand Canyon State know there are plenty of colors to be found. You can’t go wrong by mirroring the green of the mighty Saguaro, channeling spring wildflowers or choosing hues to match our spectacular sunsets.

Beach
A classic wedding destination, beach themes lend themselves to shades of blue and light, floaty fabrics. Incorporate shells, starfish or coral into your table numbers and centerpieces to carry the theme throughout your reception. Driftwood, feathery pampas grass and palm fronds are lovely touches for beach or seaside themed weddings.
Hot tip: Ditch the formal black tie and opt for tan or blue suits for the groom/groomsmen.
Forest
Green, green and more green. We see hunter green accent linens or even deep green dinner plates…which would be lovely with gold cutlery. Incorporate wooden accents and natural branches for table and venue décor and continue the theme through to the wedding favors with tealight holders or personalized coasters made from tree bark wood slices.
Hot tip: Take it up a notch and carry your theme into your cake with flowers, unique cake toppers or the cake design itself.
Vineyard
Selecting a wine vineyard as a wedding venue brings a touch of elegance along with its naturally beautiful landscape. Imagine white roses popping out of lush greenery and creeping vines running along the ceremonial arch. Rustic yet elegant touches like burlap and lace details and neutral color schemes complement this natural setting.
