Wine Pairing with Castello Banfi Winery

There are few more refreshing things after a round of golf on our two-Nicklaus designed golf courses than a quality glass of vino. Lucky for our members, Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club partners with wineries across the country and we have a wine club that lets us explore the wonderful world of wine. Each month, we host monthly wine dinners pairing select wines with chef-created dishes. The upcoming April dinner will feature pairing from Castello Banfi Winery on April 14. Founded in Tuscany, Italy in 1978 by Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani, Banfi set out to create state-of-the-art winery utilizing advanced vineyard and production science to produce premium wines. Teaming up with one of Italy’s most renowned enologists (someone who is responsible for everything to do with the science, chemistry and biology of wine) who understood how to best utilize the rich and fertile soil of the vineyards property to grow high-quality grapes for wine. Since then, Banfi has had incredible success and has expanded to four additional vineyards across Italy and is “dedicated to a finer wine world.” 

Not only does Banfi produce award-winning wine, they do so with tact and production methods that are sustainable and environmentally responsible. The winery employs numerous “green” initiatives to be as efficient as possible. From utilizing less glass in their lightweight wine bottles, variable flowrate irrigation systems and a unique system for washing agricultural machinery called the Bio-Bed, Banfi has been able to conserve and reduce energy usage while increasing production.
